Traffic lights starting to be removed from Pennsylvania Turnpike toll booths
PressandJournal.com - March 23, 2017 - The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission started Friday to decommission and remove the red, yellow and green traffic lights used as feedback signals, starting with the Harrisburg West Interchange (exit 242).
The signals, used to provide feedback to E-ZPass drivers indicating their transponders were properly read at toll booths, are now prohibited for such use by federal guidelines, according to the commission. Read more >>
EZ PASS EXPRESS LANES UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT MID-COUNTY TOLL PLAZA
6ABC.com - March 20, 2017 - Some drivers who normally use the E-ZPass express lanes at the Pennsylvania Turnpike's busy Mid-County Toll Plaza in Plymouth Meeting found some of those lanes closed Monday morning.

New law means drivers could soon pay up after PA Turnpike misses out on millions in unpaid tolls
Fox43 - March 15, 2017 - Thousands of drivers take the Pennsylvania Turnpike everyday.
According to the Turnpike Commission spokesman Carl DeFebo, most of those drivers pay a toll, but not everyone follows the rules.
"Yes, we understand tolls are going up. That's not a reason to cheat on your tolls," said DeFebo
This is the second location selected to test a cashless tolling system.
