    NYPost.com - November 24, 2024 - Companies might easily flee New York for New Jersey if they find that the new congestion pricing toll in Midtown is hurting their business and workers too much, Garden State Sen. George Helmy said Sunday.

    The $9 charge for cars and up to nearly $22 for trucks is expected to have an outsized effect on commuting New Jerseyans and firms that do business in Manhattan, Helmy said on CBS New York’s “The Point with Marcia Kramer.” Read more >>

  • Ohio Turnpike says E-ZPass drivers from Pennsylvania will no longer need to slow down at tolling booths

    WTAE.com - November 24, 2024 - The Ohio Turnpike announced some drivers will no longer need to slow down when traveling through toll booths as they exit Pennsylvania.

    A news release Thursday said open road tolling at Ohio Turnpike's Eastgate Toll Plaza for westbound travelers has begun, meaning drivers with E-ZPass will be able to drive through the plaza at highway speeds using the left lanes of the roadway. Read more >>

  • New Hampshire DOT warns of scam texts claiming person has unpaid tolls

    MSN.com - November 202, 2024 - New Hampshire transportation officials are warning of a new scam targeting Granite Staters with fake text messages claiming they have outstanding tolls to pay.

    The Department of Transportation said the texts appear to be from "NH-Pass" and claim that the recipients are facing late fees if they don't settle their unpaid toll balance. Read more >>

    NJ.com - November 19, 2024 - NJ Turnpike Authority officials approved a $2.7 billion 2025 budget Tuesday that includes the fourth 3% toll increase since 2020 on both the Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. The vote to approve the budget came after a drivers group called on Gov. Phil Murphy to veto it.

    “Last year the governor temporarily vetoed your 3 percent toll hike and this year he will be under even more pressure to do so in response to the findings from this election (and) the importance of not being tone deaf to the economic concerns of the middle class,“ Steve Carrellas of the National Motorists Association said. ”Don’t be surprised if gubernatorial candidates of both parties make this a campaign issue next year.” Read more >>

  • New York’s $9 Congestion Pricing Toll to Roll Out in January

    Lavocidennewyork.coom - November 15, 2024 - New York state is about to start charging drivers a new $9 toll to enter Midtown Manhattan.

    Governor Kathy Hochul has pushed forward a renewed version of the long-debated congestion pricing plan, aiming to ease traffic and reduce pollution while generating funds for New York City’s transit system.
